Cloudy

This week, it didn't really get cloudy until the end of the week, and now that it is cloudy, it is really cold!

Monday: Water activity day! The girls played with water, and got everything soaked. They had so much fun though, it made me so happy to see them happy.

Tuesday: For our science experiment of the week, we made a cloud. We got our instructions from this website, and it has a video to go with it too! It is super easy to do. All you have to do is pour boiling water in a jar, swish it around a bit, fill the lid with ice cubes, and place it on top of the jar. Then you spray an aerosol over the top of it, and watch your cloud emerge. Now please excuse the last picture. I tried to edit it so you could see the cloud the best, and I think I botched it a little bit. The curling out of the jar is the cloud, fyi.

Wednesday: For our art project this week I was going to have them glue cotton balls to paper to make a cloud. Sadly, I couldn't find my liquid glue, just my stick glue, and I didn't think that would work for this. So instead I had them paint with cotton swabs with white paint.

That night it was game night with Ares since the girls went to bed early. First we played Operation, and then we taught Ares how to play Monopoly. He loved it! Since we had to stop the game at bedtime we counted from there who won, and it was Ares. He was so proud of himself! I love this little boy!

Thursday: I got to watch little Miss Emma, and she did so well! I even got her to say, "Brigid baby" (that's what we call Brigid a lot). Next step, get her to say my name. I tried to get the girls to look at the sky when we got back from taking Ares to school, but they weren't very into it. However, it was a perfect example of a cloudy day.

For our sensory play, I had them play with moon sand. At first they did a great job with it, and kept it on the table... then it turned around, and long story short, I don't have anymore moon sand, and my floor got vacuumed. The girls had a blast though, and none of it was eaten! When you're dealing with 1 year olds that is a huge achievement.

Friday: We did Chinese for cloudy day.

Sunny

The week of November 10th - 16th was super busy. We had family dinners, Veterans Day, and a week full of sunshine.

Sunday: We spent time with my Aunt Amy and Uncle Sam. Kyle and Sam played a game while Amy and I had the kids have a play date. They had so much fun playing outside together! Ares even got to see his first raccoon.

They made a delicious Mexican meal for us, and I brought pumpkin pie balls. Everything was so yummy! (In case you didn't notice, I actually did an awesome job with the chocolate, and it looks pretty!)

Monday: I got a call early in the morning from Kyle Ann asking me if I could watch Jude because her grandpa had emergency surgery. The kids loved having a play date with Jude. When Kyle Ann came back she helped me help the kids make sun catchers with wax paper and crayon.

Then, since it was Veteran's Day, we spent the day with my Dad, who is a veteran of the Navy, and helped with the evacuation of Saigon. It was a fun day! Ares even got to ride his bike, and at the end of the day he helped walk the dogs.

Tuesday: I got to watch little Miss Emma, and we had quite a day. She did so well with drop off, and didn't cry at all! She is definitely getting used to me, which is awesome! One of the things we did was play with play-doh. They all really enjoyed playing with it, and the best part was that they only ate it once, then they didn't do it again! Apparently they didn't like the way it tastes, which is okay with me :) I also sang the girls "Mr. Sun", "You Are My Sunshine", and "Here Comes the Sun".

I've also started having my girls drink out of cups, and I didn't want Emma to feel left out so I had her try it too. She did so well!

That night, after Ares' homework, Kyle set up our kitchen as an archery range. Ares then had to try and hit the target with his suction cup arrows. He did a pretty good job too, I was impressed.

Wednesday: I had the kids paint me some sunny pictures to light up my fridge. These kiddos are definitely the sunshine in my life.

Thursday: I went over the Chinese word for sunny day.

Friday: For our science experiment for the week, Kyle and I did shadow puppets for the girls. This way they could start comprehending the difference between light and dark. They were entertained for a good hour with the shadow puppets, and then letting them have their own little light show with their flashlights.
