Summer Fun with the Family and Independence Day! (June 30- July4, 2014)

During the week of June 30- July 4, 2014, my Aunt Dianna and her kids, and my Uncle Joe and Aunt Udrika and their kiddos came up to visit us here in Kansas. On Monday, we all met up at my Uncle Tom's house to go swimming. Just looking at these pictures reminds me of how extremely hot that day!

The kids all took turns jumping off the diving board next, and Jenny, Dianna, and Udrika took turns catching them.

Brigid thought she wanted to jump off by herself, but she got scared so Dianna jumped off with her.

On Tuesday, we went swimming again! This time we went to my mother-in-law's and Camden and Parker joined us.

Then it was off to my Grandparents' house in the afternoon. Ares and the girls played with their cousins some more, before our family outdoor movie night.

Ares and Camden decided to build a "clubhouse" together. Ares didn't want his sisters to play on it so he made a sign saying "No Girls Allowed". After taking a picture of it (of course) I told him he had to take it down and play nice with his sisters.

When it finally started to get dark it was time for us to start our outdoor movie, The Lego Movie! We are big Lego Movie fans in this house so all my kids were sucked into it. I didn't get pictures of everybody because a lot of my other cousins were sitting on the other side and I didn't want to "disturb" them by walking in front of the movie to get a picture.

On Wednesday it was water balloon fight day!!! Everyone brings coolers full of water balloons, then we spread them out on towels all over the park. We then let the littlest kids go first, then the older kids get to have at it.

Afterwards we had a picnic lunch and played at the park, and Kyle Ann and Jude met us up there.

Thursday was the last day before Dianna and the boys had to go to visit their other relatives for the 4th of July. I brought Ares, the girls, and Parker over to my Grandparents for them to play together one last time before they left. I got out the crazy daisy for the kids to play in, but Parker and Brigid wanted nothing to do with it so they played with chalk on the porch. Camden, Ares, and Ceri, however, couldn't get enough of spraying each other with it.

Friday was the 4th of July and it was my year to have Ares!!! We picked him up from his dad, and then we headed over to my in-laws. We played in the pool, and had a delicious cook out on the grill.

After we swam and ate, and swam some more, it was time for some daytime fireworks!

In the evening we then went over to the 4th of July party at my Uncle Tom's house. Ares wanted to swim more so him and I headed out to the pool first while the girls played with my sister Lindsey and Kyle and they set off some more fireworks. We got back there just in time for Uncle Bill to go scuba diving in the pool. He then let Ares try it out, and he thought it was the coolest thing ever!

I decided Ares had swam enough for the day, and had him get out so we could do fireworks with his sisters and cousins. Ares, Brigid, and Ceri had a blast! You can just see the pure joy and bliss in their faces!
