4th Week of Summer Fun (June 14-20th)

Sorry this is 2 weeks behind folks, but honestly I have just been enjoying my family time and summer so I'm not that sorry. :)

This is what you all have missed!

On Sunday (June 14) was an extremely busy day! First we went to my Dad and Shari's to pick up Ceri who had spent the night. When we got there, my Dad had gone all out for a treasure hunt with Ares. I was impressed! He had aged some paper, and then walked the path that morning to draw the map, and took a shovel, and dug the treasure actually in the ground. The treasure was a mini minion lunch box with a giant fake diamond and crystal cube he had found at Michael's, and some change to look like treasure coins. Ares had so much fun! He showed off his treasure to everyone this whole 2 weeks!

Since it was pouring rain by 1pm, our friends swim party was canceled. We then decided to head over to the family gathering for my father-in-law, Wayne's, side of the family. We have not actually hung out with his side of the family for a gathering since I was pregnant with the girls, so a little over 3 years. The reason we haven't gotten together, is because Wayne's sister, Kathi, and her three sons live in California where they are actively involved in the movie industry. This Sunday, Kathi, and her youngest son Kendall, whom you might recognize from the popular Nickelodeon show, Big Time Rush, and his girlfriend, Mica, were visiting. I'm glad we were able to go because we all had a great time, especially the kids! It quit raining after a bit so everyone was able to go swimming, and jump on the trampoline. I am still so grateful to our host and hostess for having us over, Kent's (Kendall's dad) niece and her husband. They were some of the most friendly people I have ever met!

On Monday (June 15) we were so exhausted from Sunday that we just took it easy. I took the kids over to my Mom's for the afternoon, and Ares played with the neighbor boys while the girls swam in the little pool.

On Tuesday (June 16) Ares left for vacation with his Dad for the rest of the week. It was just the girls, Parker, and I now so we just stayed in the AC in the house and played games, read books, etc.

On Wednesday (June 17) we all went to the library for their preschool puppet show, "Moo Who?" that was about a cow who had forgotten how to moo. There was lots of singing and dancing, and they ended with playing with bubbles. After the puppet show, we hung around the library and read books and played with puzzles.

On Thursday (June 18th).... well this happened.... My girls decided that our vacuum needed to be "fixed". Kyle had to cut it off because it wouldn't come undone. I couldn't be mad at them because they were so proud of their work!

On Friday (June 19th),I attempted to do giant bubbles with the kiddos. I followed the instructions exactly, and I have to say... this is one of my few pinterest FAILS!!! I even had my cousin Brianna try to do it with us, and she got one... after about 5 tries that is. We tried some more and it still wouldn't work. Well at least we got one bubble... right?

That evening, I went with my Mom, Grandma, my aunts Amy and Jenny, and my sister Lindsey, to go see the Wichita Shakespeare Company's, Shakespeare in the Park's performance of "As You Like It". It just so happens that a good friend of mine was performing in it also, and I'm so glad she was because she is a very talented actress, and has this way of making Shakespeare way more understandable thanks to the inflections in her voice, facial expressions, and gestures.

On Saturday (June 20th) it was Ares 8th Birthday!!!! We picked him up from his Dad, and took him to Chuck E. Cheese's to celebrate! We all had so much fun, and I can't believe how fast the time went!

That's all for now! Hopefully Week 5 will be in the next day or two. :) Thanks for reading!
