3rd Week of Summer Fun! (June 7-13)

We left off with the girls having a sleepover with their Grandma and Grandpa, and Ares having a sleepover with his cousin Camden. Are you ready to see what fun they all had? I know I am! ;)

On Sunday, June 7th, Kyle and I had the morning to ourselves so we were able to sleep in a little bit, and go to mass without any kids with us since Ares had gone to an earlier mass with my Aunt Dianna. I have to say, it was super weird not having the kids with us. After mass we picked up the twinkies from their Grandma's, and we heard how Brigid had dressed up their dog Barney that morning! Barney is so good with all the kids, he is such a good dog.

Next it was off to Grammy and Granddad's house for the girls to play with Camden, Carson, and Cooper too. The girls swam in the little kiddie pool, and played water basketball that the boys had set up for them, while the boys played baseball. Then they topped off their American sports day with an all American dessert, apple pie with vanilla ice cream. (If you look closely in the apple pie picture, you will see Camden and Ares' "treasure" they found at the creek. They definitely take after us older cousins because we used to do the same thing when we were their age.)

While we were here, I also watched my cousin Apollo. He was asleep through all this because the poor guy was tired, but he didn't miss out on everything though. We all went over to my Mom's for more swimming fun, and steak for dinner. Yum! (My Mom seriously makes the best steaks ever!)

That night, Ares FINALLY lost his tooth that had been so wiggly, for what seemed like forever! As a reward for him finally letting someone help him pop it out, he got a chocolate sundae with whipped cream and a cherry. He was a nice big brother too, and shared it with his sisters. He made sure to put it under his pillow, and was pleased to find that the tooth fairy left him a dollar!

On Monday, June 8th, we went through our normal routine, except our park play was cut short because we had to find a bathroom for Ceri. We really love playing at our park, but unfortunately they don't have a bathroom. I think I may have to make a call or write a letter to our Parks and Rec Department about the situation.

Anywho, we then picked up two of Ares's best friends and my Mom, and we all went to the YMCA waterpark. My Aunt Jenny and Aunt Mary and all their kiddos came too, but everyone was so busy I wasn't able to get a picture of the whole group together. I was able to get a group picture of Ares, his sisters, friends, and Parker.

This was then followed by our normal evening routine of dinner and dancing, and a special trip to Opa and Go Go's.

On Tuesday, June 8th, our schedule was a little out of whack, but Kyle and I were extremely productive, and got a lot of things done. Since the girls and Parker were so well behaved during our errands that morning, we took them on a picnic lunch at a nearby park. After lunch they played on the equipment until it was time to pick up Ares.

Once we picked up Ares, it was off to visit Grammy Bette and Ron. It was a really nice visit, and I was able to show Ares some pictures of his Opa, aunts, uncles, and cousins when they were young. She even gave each of the kids a ceramic figurine she had painted. The kids absolutely love them!

Our evening then went on with our normal evening activities of swimming lessons for Brigid, and gymnastics for Ares. Since her brother and sister were busy for the evening, my Mom decided to have just Ceri over for a sleepover.

On Wednesday, June 9th, we dropped Ares off at school like usual. Since Ceri was sleeping over at Nana's house, that meant that just Brigid and Parker got to make their own lemonade from scratch at Chick-fil-A. Once they tried their finished products I had trouble getting them to even put their lemonades down for a picture! Must have been some good lemonade!

Later, after we picked up Ares, Ceri, and my Mom, we went over to my Aunt Jenny's for the Ice Cream Day she had set up for all the cousins. First they painted ice cream onto some ice cream cones, then they played pin the cherry on the ice cream sundae, then finally it was time to eat ice cream! Jenny did such an awesome job setting this up for all of the cousins. I am so grateful!

On Thursday, June 11th, our morning went on as usual, and then we met up with my friend Christina and her sister and their kids to go to story time at the library. It was very cute, and the kids enjoyed it. We'll definitely have to go again.

Once we picked up Ares, we went to the car wash. Turns out, Parker is afraid of the car wash so he stayed inside the car. Ares sprayed the water while the girls scrubbed. Alas, they weren't able to get it very clean because the ropes connecting the hoses kept twisting up. I decided then we'd go through the drive thru car wash. Poor Ceri and Parker were not fans of it, but luckily it didn't take long.

We went back home and ate lunch, then it was nap time. My Mom watched the little ones while I took Ares to the library for their "Super Hero Training Academy". They made masks to protect their identity. Then it was off to defeat the "Joker", and then a "laser maze", followed by a race.

Brigid went to my Mom's for her sleepover, while I took Ceri on a Mommy/Daughter date night to see Ballet Wichita's Ballet in the Park production of Snow White. Ceri was in awe through the whole thing! All she kept talking about was how she got to see ballerinas and a princess!

After the show, the ballerinas came out so you could meet them. We got pictures of Ceri with the Evil Queen, the noble steed, Grumpy (because it is my Mom's favorite dwarf), Snow White, Prince Charming, and the blue bird. She even did her little ballet spin for the blue bird to show her she was a ballerina too. It was adorable!

On Friday, June 12th, I took Brigid on her Mommy/ Daughter date. Wichita Children's Theater's Picnic Theater, was putting on the show "Pinkalicious". They served us pizza and drinks. Then it was time to watch the show. I had heard of the book, but I had never read it. It was very cute! Unfortunately, Brigid was not as impressed as I was. At least we got some one on one time though.

The cast of Pinkalicious came out after the show, and handed out cookies to the kids. They were so nice!

On Saturday, June 13th, Kyle, the girls, and I met up with my Aunt Kathi, and went to a local Farmer's Market. We had never been before, but Kathi had so she showed us the best deals. It was also kids day at the Farmer's Market so there was a clown making balloon creations, a violinist, and the 4-H club provided some games. It was a very good way to spend the morning! Plus we brought home some delicious vegetables (that all 3 of the kids have almost nearly devoured already).

That evening, my Dad and Shari wanted to have Ceri over for a sleepover (they are having the kids spend the night one at a time so they can give them some one on one time).

Then it was off to my brother in laws house for Kyle, Ares, and Darren to play games. Ares didn't last long with the games. He went off and on over to the table to make sure Darren was beating Kyle, but that was the extent of him wanting to play. Since Ru had just had surgery that Friday, we had to be quiet, so Brigid, Ares, and I watched some TV.
