Square, the Shape of the Week (Feb 3-7)

This week was the girls' 2nd Birthday week, and it was also the week of a huge snow storm here. So big in fact they closed school for three days. I also stayed at my mom for those three days because Ares wanted a sleepover the first night and then we were snowed in the other two days.

The girls really enjoyed their mini-birthday party!

Sensory: Legos are square and the kids absolutely LOVE building with Legos! This was their favorite activity this week.

Ares also had a different sensory project, and that was playing in the snow! He only got to play in the snow the first day it began snowing because the other days the wind chill made it way too cold for any of the kids to go out.

Science Experiment: What is more yummy then making brownies that are squares for a science project?!

Art Project: While we didn't do a sit down art project this week, we did have fun getting our nails done by my sister Lindsey. (Brigid didn't because she was taking a nap at the time). We even soaked our feet in a square container.

Triangle, the Shape of the Week ( Jan. 27-31)

It has been exactly one month since I have posted on this blog. In this month so many things have happened! Kyle and I are moving into our first house, we had the girls' birthday, had their huge birthday party, and my sister Karen has come back from Germany for a visit! So will all of this happening it is no wonder that I haven't had time to edit pictures and put them up here. I will start with where I left off, triangles.

Sensory: We played with Play-doh!

Adventure: Ares and I had tickets to our very first Thunder Hockey game! We watched my cousin Zach and the All Saints Honor Choir sing the National Anthem, and they did a wonderful job. Then it was Thunder time! Ares had a BLAST at the game! He got up and danced every time they played music, and at one point stopped Thunder Dog (the mascot) who was walking by our row, and Ares said, "Hey you!" Thunder Dog looked at him and Ares then said, "Yea you! You're awesome!" Thunder Dog liked that! He even got to throw out a hockey puck out onto the ice to see if he could win a prize, but sadly he didn't. We couldn't stay for all of the game because it was bed time, but I think they ended up winning... don't quote me on that though.

Our next adventure this week was visiting the Keeper of the Plains to find all the triangles there. We found a lot!

Science Experiment: For my science lesson this week I had decided to do music. Sadly I could not find a musical triangle, but the girls and Jude still had a lot of fun playing their other instruments.

Art Project: Since it was Kansas Day when I decided to do our art projects, we made sunflower cookies since they are our state flower. They turned out super cute, and the kids really enjoyed it! Shout out to my hubby who baked the cookies, they turned out really good.
