Ares' last day of school this year was Thursday, December 19th. When I came to help put set up for the his class party I found out his teacher was sick so Mrs. Evans had helped the substitute put everything together for the kids already. All I had to do was put my goodies on their desks, then join everyone in the gym. Now, since I hadn't been able to make it Ares' Christmas party last year (my mom and sister Karen had gone in my place), I had no idea what was going on. They had gotten all the kids in the gym and had them all sing Christmas carols. Then Santa and Mrs. Claus came for a visit, and the students were so excited!!! Santa then led them all in 'Jingle Bells' before the students left for their class parties.
I love class parties because I get to be creative! For Halloween I did candy apples for the kids, and this year for their Christmas party I made candy cane sleighs. I hot glued three mini Hershey bars for the bottom, two Twix on top of those, and then a fun size candy on top of that. I then wrapped them in ribbon and topped with a bow. They turned out so cute! All of Ares' classmates loved them and kept thanking me for them. It was so sweet, they certainly have good manners! Ares was proud of me too because he felt the need to tell everyone repeatedly, "My Mommy made those!" :)
All the students had presents from Santa waiting on their desks when they returned to their classrooms, along with their party treats. Ares opened his present to find blue fluffy gloves, crayons, and a coloring book. He was so excited that Santa knew he loved blue so he got blue gloves!
Thank you so much to the people who made this day so special for my child and all of the other children at the school. You all are wonderful!
