Since we had a brief rise in temperature this last weekend we went to the park, and let Ares' ride his bike around. All the while, telling the girls (and reminding Ares) that because of Ares' tire wheels being circles they were able to go round and round to make it go. The kids loved going to the park, and being out in the warm sunshine. With the polar vortex we haven't been able to spend long periods of time outside.
Sensory: For our sensory activity this week we played in the sand. This worked out perfect for us to do on Monday since Ares didn't have school for MLK day, and the day was warm and bright again.
Sadly this fun excursion was cut short because of another kid at the park that was bullying Ares, and despite both my protests and my mom's the kid's father did nothing about it so we left.
After Kyle got off work, he met us at my Mom's, and took Ares to his first game ever of laser tag! He didn't get a bunch of pictures of it, but I at least got a picture of Ares with his key thing to get him into the building. They both had a blast, and we have decided we'll go again when Ares' cousin Camden is in town so they could go together.
Science Experiment: For our science activity this week we made bubbles! This is one of my kids' favorite things to do! We all took turns blowing bubbles, and of course their favorite part was to jump to try and catch them. They were occupied for a good 45 minutes, and the only reason I had to stop it was because it was time to settle down before bedtime.
Adventure: I decided to go to two different places this week for our adventure. The first was my grandparents' house. The girls had a play date with their cousin Emma, and I got to spend time with my grandparents, Aunt Jenny, and Aunt Amy. After I took Ares to tutoring we went back to my grandparents' for Ares to play with Grammy and Granddad.
For our second adventure, after I had taken Ares to school, I took the girls to the only round building we have in town, Century II. I initially wanted to take them for a walk around the building, but it was freezing so we stayed in the car. I drove around and around the round a bout instead, talking to the girls how we were going in a circle. They just replied with, "Wee!!!" as we went around. :)
Art Project: This week's art project was painting with watercolors. I love watercolors, and it turns out the girls do too! They made some beautiful pieces of art.
Random: For my random activity of the week, I decided I would start a shape book for the girls. In this book I would cut out a shape of the week, and they would help me glue it in. Then I would have them practice their shapes on the next page. This is the book so far.
Tune in next week when we have fun with triangles!
You have some Super Cute Kids! Hope we get to come into town next month and see you all!
ReplyDelete-D.
why are you not teaching them German? :p their cousin will speak it. Circle is "Kreis" (K- rye-z)
ReplyDeleteWhen you get home write down all the German for me then. I'll give you a list of words they need to know. You'll need to tell me the correct pronunciation as well. Kyle does that for the Chinese because I don't know how to pronounce the Chinese at all!
