This was our last week of weather! Yay!!! Our final weather was wind, and with us living in Kansas there is plenty of that. We were actually in a wind advisory last week, so it worked out perfectly. I regret to inform you all that I was very sick with the flu this week, as was one of my daughters so I wasn't able to do everything on my lesson plans. I was able to improvise a little, and luckily with my husband's help, the kids still learned a lot and had fun.
For our sensory and adventure this last week, my husband took Ceri and Ares out to the park because it was in the 60's for a day. I had given Ares a coat to wear to the park, but he dubbed it too warm, and left it in the car, taking just his gloves instead. As you can see from the first picture, it is still daylight while they are out there, but the rest of the pictures are darker, because for some reason that's how my camera works. The flash makes it look darker than it is outside.

So happy!!!
For our art project of the week, I had them make wind socks. They all drew what they wanted on their papers, then we stapled them, added ribbon, and they were done!
I even made one! Don't you love my mermaid? ;)
Luckily, for wind, there are a ton of songs for that category! "Blowin in the Wind", "Seminole Wind", "Candle in the Wind", "Blowing Kisses in the Wind", etc.... I had the kids listen to these and another youtube video, this time of wind blowing, and the causes severe wind has on the world around us.
I wish I could have gone on our trip to visit the wind farms in south Butler County, but Brigid and I were way too sick to go anywhere. Thankfully we were still able to learn a lot about wind through other activities.
