On Saturday, July 27th it was my birthday. For my birthday I had decided to go to a Demolition Derby since I had never been, and it was on our Summer Fun List. My mom watched the girls while Kyle, Ares, and I drove to Hillsboro, KS for the Marion County Fair's Demolition Derby. Luckily my dad and step-mom, Shari, got there before we did so were able to save us spots because it was packed by the time we got there. Do you notice that Ares is wearing a sweatshirt? That is because it was still in the car from when we went ice skating on Thursday, and he grabbed it when we left the car because he said it was going to get cold. He was very right! For a late July evening we weren't expecting it to be so chilly! Ares was the warmest out of all of us.
They had watered the track down with a truck full of water so that it would be nice and muddy.
Then it was time for the festivities to begin! Ares was so excited! He bet on the blue car of each round to win, and he actually was spot on every time!
We all had a blast so we will have to do this again next year! Maybe we'll sit closer if we want to be in the section where mud flings on you ;) Besides getting to spend time with my family for my birthday we got to have funnel cake as my birthday cake!!! YUM!!!
