Confessions of a Red-headed Stepchild: Fun with Grammie and Granddad!

Ares has been asking for months if he can spend the night at Great Grammie and Granddad's house. So after his karate test on Tuesday he got to have a sleep over with them! He had a lot of fun! He ended up sleeping in Grammie and Granddad's bed with Granddad because Ares fell asleep while Granddad was telling him a story. On Wednesday morning Ares got pancakes from Grammie and then Granddad went out and bought him chocolate doughnuts too! Granddad then took him to the DAV, and Ares got three new toys. He got a Lightning McQueen car, a pair of boxing gloves, and a giant dragon. He was definitely spoiled ;)

I came over with the twins after lunch, and we went on our adventure to explore the forest behind my grandparent's house. Since it had rained a lot this week the trail wasn't completely dry. I had a tough time pushing the girls' stroller through the mud, but it was totally worth it because I got some cute pictures of the kids. Ares also said he saw a magic dragon on our forest adventure. According to Ares the dragon looks like a tree during the day, but becomes a dragon at night. I see a writing career in that boy's future. He has such a great imagination!

After our adventure we headed back to Grammie and Granddad's house to cool off in the AC and have a water break. When we got back to the house Kyle was there! The kids were all so excited! Then it was time to wash our car the old fashion way, with a garden hose, suds and a bucket.

Brigid wanted nothing to do with the washing the car, or getting wet for that matter. Instead she drug out one of the child sized lawn chairs and relaxed while she watched the rest of us work!

After we had cleaned the car the kids dried off by playing outside. They had so much fun pushing around a wagon, and Ares brought out a pedaling tractor that he played with.
