Karate Presentation and Ceremony

Last night was Ares' last karate class until the beginning of September, and following the lesson was a karate presentation of what they had learned during the last few weeks as well as a ceremony to present the students with their next belt advancement. First was the demonstration. Ares did a great job!

After this it was time for the nun chucks demonstration. Ares goofed off at first, and was put back in line by one of the assistants. My Dad said since he likes making people laugh maybe he will be the next big comedian in slap stick comedy. Once he was reprimanded by the assistant he was much more serious about it, and finished the routine very well.

After this was the award ceremony. Ares was a white belt in the beginning. His teacher then presented him with his new belt that he worked very hard to attain along with a certificate of his achievement. He is now a yellow belt with a black stripe. The black stripe symbolizes that he is half way to a green belt. I'm so proud of him!
